How to unlock a PDF

Two kinds of PDF protection
- An open password is needed to view the file at all. You must enter it to unlock the PDF.
- A permissions password does not stop you from reading the file, but blocks printing, copying or editing. Leave the password field empty and we remove those limits.
- We cannot recover a forgotten open password.
- Only unlock documents that you own or have permission to change.
Your files stay private
Your PDF and password are sent over a secure connection, used only to unlock the file, and deleted from the conversion service right after the download. We do not keep or share your documents or passwords.
