Split PDF Files Online for Free

Use the DailyOnWeb Split PDF tool to break one PDF into separate files. Pull a few pages out of a long report, separate chapters of a book, split a scanned batch into single pages or cut a large document into equal parts, then download the result as a PDF or a ZIP archive.

How to split a PDF

  1. Click Select PDF file, or drag your PDF onto the page.
  2. Choose how to split: By range, Every page or Fixed size.
  3. For ranges, type pages such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 or click the page thumbnails to select them.
  4. Click Split PDF and wait a moment while the new files are created.
  5. Download your files, or continue to another PDF tool such as Merge PDF or Compress PDF.

Three ways to split

  • By range: each range you enter becomes its own PDF. Tick Merge all ranges into one PDF to extract just those pages into a single file.
  • Every page: every page of the document is saved as a separate PDF.
  • Fixed size: the document is cut into files with the same number of pages, with any remainder in the last file.

A PDF splitter that respects your privacy

Many online PDF splitters upload your documents to a server. This tool does the work inside your browser, so confidential files such as contracts, bank statements and ID scans never leave your device.

Tips for splitting PDFs

  • Check the page thumbnails before splitting so you pick the right pages.
  • Unlock password-protected PDFs before adding them.
  • Need the pieces back in one file later? Use Merge PDF.
  • If the parts are large, run them through Compress PDF to reduce the size for email.

Split PDF is free, works on phones, tablets and computers, and needs no registration or software installation.
