Free Online JSON Formatter, Validator and Beautifier

The DailyOnWeb JSON formatter is a free JSON validator, JSON beautifier and JSON minifier in one page. Paste raw data from an API, a log or a config file and get clean, indented JSON in one click. If something is wrong, the tool points to the exact line and column. Everything runs in your browser, so it needs no registration and nothing is uploaded.

How to format and validate JSON

  1. Paste your JSON into the input box, or use the sample.
  2. Choose the indent: 2 spaces, 4 spaces or tab, and tick Sort keys if you want A to Z order.
  3. Click Format to pretty print, Minify to compress, or Validate to check the syntax.
  4. Copy the result or download it as a .json file.

How to fix common JSON errors

Most invalid JSON comes from a few mistakes. Remove the trailing comma after the last property, replace single quotes with double quotes, put quotes around every key, delete comments, and make sure every opening bracket has a closing one. Run Validate after each fix and the error position will move forward until the document is clean.

When to use format, minify or sort

  • Format when you read, review or debug data and need clear structure.
  • Minify when you ship JSON in requests, files or storage and want the smallest size.
  • Sort keys when you compare two files or want stable output for version control.

A JSON viewer that keeps your data private

API responses often hold tokens, emails or customer data. Many online tools send your input to a server. This one parses everything locally, so sensitive JSON never leaves your device.
