Free Online URL Decoder and Percent Decoding Tool

The DailyOnWeb URL decoder converts percent-encoded text back into readable characters. Paste a link, a query string or any text full of codes like %20 and %2F, and the decoded URL appears instantly. It is built for developers, marketers and anyone who needs to read a long tracking link or a redirect URL.

How to decode a URL

  1. Paste the encoded URL or text into the input box, or click the sample.
  2. Tick plus as space if the text comes from an HTML form or a query string where + means a space.
  3. Read the decoded text in the output box and check the parameter table below it.
  4. Copy the result or download it as a text file.

Common percent codes and what they mean

  • %20 is a space, %2F is a slash and %3A is a colon.
  • %3F is a question mark, %26 is an ampersand and %3D is an equals sign.
  • %C3%AB and similar sequences are UTF-8 bytes for accented letters and symbols.
  • %2520 is double encoded text. Decode it twice to get a space.

Fixing malformed URL errors

Most errors come from a lone percent sign or a truncated code such as %E0%A4. Remove or complete the broken sequence and decoding will work again. If you copied the link from a chat or email, check that no characters were cut off at the end.

Private URL decoding in your browser

Redirect links and tracking URLs often contain emails, session tokens or campaign data. This tool decodes everything locally, so sensitive links never leave your device.
