Smooth scaling
The image is enlarged with high-quality resampling, so edges stay smooth instead of turning into blocky pixels.
Adjustable sharpening
After enlarging, a sharpen step restores edge contrast. You decide how strong it is, from 0 to 100 percent.

Upscale Images Online for Free
In short: this tool enlarges small images 2x, 3x or 4x directly in your browser. It uses smooth scaling with an adjustable sharpen step, and nothing is uploaded.
How to upscale an image
- Drop your image on the page, or click to choose it.
- Choose the scale: 2x, 3x or 4x.
- Set the sharpen slider. 40 percent is a good start.
- Click Upscale and download the larger image.
What to expect
Enlarging an image always means creating pixels that were not in the original. The tool does this with smooth resampling and sharpening, which keeps edges clean and avoids the jagged look of a plain stretch. The more you enlarge, the softer fine detail becomes, so start from the best source you have.
What Image Upscaler is best for
- Making a small logo or graphic big enough for print.
- Enlarging old photos and thumbnails.
- Meeting a minimum size requirement on a platform.
- Preparing screenshots for larger displays and slides.
Your images stay on your device
The work is done by your browser, so there is no upload and no copy on a server. Family photos and client files stay private.
Need something else?
Brighten and sharpen further with Image Enhancer. To set an exact size instead of a multiplier, use Image Resize. Large results can be reduced afterwards with Compress Image, and BG Remover cuts out the subject. See every tool in Image Tools.
Good to know
- Upscaling cannot recover detail that the original never had.
- Lower the scale if the browser reports that the image is too large.
- Over-sharpening can create halos, so adjust the slider gently.
- Keep your original file in case you need it again.
자주 묻는 질문 (FAQ)
How do I upscale an image?
Drop your image onto the page, choose 2x, 3x or 4x, set the sharpen amount and click Upscale. Then download the larger image.
Does upscaling add new detail?
No tool can recover detail that was never captured. This one enlarges the image with smooth scaling and then applies sharpening so edges look cleaner. The result is better than a plain stretch, but it is not a true high-resolution photo.
What does the sharpen slider do?
It increases edge contrast after enlarging. The default of 40 percent suits most photos. Lower it for soft portraits and raise it for text, logos and line art.
Which scale should I pick?
Use 2x for a safe, clean result. 3x and 4x work best on images that are already fairly sharp. Very small or blurry sources look softer the more you enlarge them.
Is there a size limit?
Very large images cannot be enlarged further because browsers limit the biggest picture they can draw. If you see a message that the image is too large, use a lower scale or a smaller source.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The upscaling runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your photos are never sent to DailyOnWeb or anyone else.
Which formats can I upscale?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, HEIC and SVG files are accepted.
