HEIC / HEIF
HEIC is the photo format used by iPhone and iPad since iOS 11. It saves the same picture in roughly half the space of a JPG, but support outside the Apple world is patchy.
JPG
JPG, also written JPEG, is the most widely supported photo format. It opens on every phone, computer, printer and website, which makes it the safe choice for sharing.

Convert HEIC to JPG Online for Free
In short: this tool converts HEIC and HEIF photos to JPG directly in your browser. You choose the quality, convert many files at once and nothing is uploaded. The JPG files open on any device, in any app and in any online form.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Drop your HEIC or HEIF photos on the page, or click to choose them.
- Set the quality with the slider. 90 is the default and suits most photos.
- Click Convert and wait a moment while each photo is processed.
- Download the JPG files one by one, or all at once.
Why HEIC photos will not open
iPhone and iPad save pictures as HEIC to use less storage. The catch is that a Windows PC, an older editor, a government upload form or a photo printing kiosk may not recognise the format. JPG has been the standard for decades, so converting removes the problem.
What HEIC to JPG is best for
- Opening iPhone photos on a Windows or Android device.
- Sending pictures by email to people who cannot open HEIC.
- Uploading photos to forms, job portals and marketplaces that only accept JPG.
- Printing photos at a lab or on a home printer.
- Editing in software that does not support HEIC.
Your photos stay on your device
The HEIC decoder runs inside your browser, so there is no upload and no waiting. Your pictures are never copied to a server, which matters for private family photos and client work.
Need a different format?
For websites, HEIC to WebP gives smaller files. After converting you can make a photo smaller with Compress Image, change its size with Image Resize, or place it in a document with JPG to PDF. Browse everything in Image Tools.
Good to know
- Both .heic and .heif files are accepted.
- JPG files are often larger than the HEIC they came from.
- JPG has no transparency, so any see-through area takes the background colour you choose.
- Photo details such as location may not be kept in the converted file.
Sıkça Sorulan Sorular (SSS)
How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
Drop your HEIC or HEIF files onto the page or click to browse, choose a quality level and click Convert. When it finishes, download each JPG. You can convert several photos at once.
Why can I not open HEIC photos on my computer?
HEIC is the default photo format on iPhone and iPad. Many Windows versions, older apps, websites and printers do not support it without extra software. Converting to JPG gives you a file that opens almost everywhere.
Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
At the default quality of 90 the difference is very hard to see. JPG is lossy, and the file will usually be larger than the HEIC because JPG compresses less efficiently. Use a higher setting for prints and a lower one for sharing.
What quality setting should I choose?
Use 90 for everyday photos and prints. Choose 95 or more for photos you plan to edit further. Go down to 70 to 80 when you need small files for email or messaging.
What does the background colour option do?
JPG cannot be transparent. If your photo has see-through areas, they are filled with the colour you choose, white by default. Normal iPhone photos have no transparency, so you will not notice any change.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The HEIC file is decoded and converted inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to DailyOnWeb or anyone else, so personal photos stay private.
Can I convert many HEIC files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like and convert them in one go. If your browser slows down with a very large batch, convert in smaller groups.
