Resize by pixels

Enter an exact width, height or both. With the aspect ratio locked, you only need one number and the other is calculated. This is ideal when a platform asks for a specific size.

Resize by percent

Scale the whole image up or down by a percentage. It is the fastest way to make a batch of photos smaller by the same amount without checking each dimension.

Resize Images Online for Free

In short: this tool changes the dimensions of your images directly in your browser. Enter an exact width and height or a percentage, keep the proportions locked, resize many files at once and nothing is uploaded.

How to resize an image

  1. Drop your images on the page, or click to choose them.
  2. Choose Pixels or Percent and enter the new size.
  3. Keep the lock on to preserve the aspect ratio.
  4. Click Resize and download your images.

Why resize before you upload

A phone photo can be 4000 pixels wide, far more than a web page or an email needs. Resizing to the size you actually display cuts the file size, speeds up loading, saves storage and often makes uploads to forms and marketplaces succeed that would otherwise fail on file size limits.

What Image Resize is best for

  • Preparing photos for a website, blog or online shop.
  • Meeting the exact size a form, ad or platform asks for.
  • Making email attachments smaller.
  • Creating thumbnails and previews.
  • Reducing a whole folder of photos by the same percentage.

Your images stay on your device

The work is done by your browser, so there is no upload and no copy on a server. That keeps private and client photos safe.

Need something else?

To cut away part of a picture, use Crop Image. To lower the file size without changing the dimensions, try Compress Image. To make a small picture bigger, Image Upscaler adds sharpening, and Rotate Image fixes the direction. For the smallest web files, finish with JPG to WebP. See everything in Image Tools.

Good to know

  • Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it larger can look soft.
  • When both width and height are filled with the lock on, the ratio is respected.
  • The original size of your image is shown so you can plan the new one.
  • Keep your original file in case you need a larger version later.

Sıkça Sorulan Sorular (SSS)

How do I resize an image online?

Drop your image onto the page, choose Pixels or Percent, enter the new size and click Resize. Then download the result. You can add several images and resize them all in one go.

How do I keep the correct proportions?

Leave the lock aspect ratio option on. When you change the width, the height follows automatically, so the picture is not stretched or squashed.

Can I resize by percentage?

Yes. Choose Percent and enter a value such as 50 to halve the image, or 200 to double it. The scale can range from 1 to 500 percent.

Does resizing change the image quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp and reduces the file size. Making it larger adds pixels the photo never had, so it can look soft. For enlarging, try the Image Upscaler instead.

Which formats can I resize?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, HEIC and SVG files are accepted. The resized image is saved in a format that suits the original.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your photos are never sent to DailyOnWeb or anyone else.

What size should I use for a website or social post?

For a full-width web hero, around 1920 pixels wide is enough. For blog images 1200 pixels works well, and most social posts look good at 1080 pixels. Resizing to the size you display makes pages load faster.
